What is the process and timeline for volunteers?
  1. Awareness Campaign and Register – (May-August 2025)
    Your journey begins! Create your account here.
  2. Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Kansas City Application – (August 2025)
    Official application form opens via the FIFA Volunteer platform.
  3. Group Recruitment/Interviews – (October-December 2025)
    FIFA World Cup 26™ Kansas City volunteer center opens. You will go through an interview process where you will learn the culture, values and importance of FIFA volunteers while sharing your experience and skills.
  4. Role Offers start being made – (February 2026)
    Volunteers are offered a specific role and matched to a Functional Area’s (FA’s) requirement.This is where you will either accept or reject the offer. Once you accept, you can then select shifts.
  5. Training – (March-May 2026)
    A roster and schedule will be finalized along with online training, orientation training, Role Specific training (RST) and Venue Specific Training (VST).
  6. Accreditation and Uniform Distribution – (May-June 2026)
    Volunteers collect accreditation (credentials) and uniform from the Volunteer Center.
  7. TOURNAMENT TIME – (June-July 2026)
Can I apply if I have accessibility needs?

Absolutely! FIFA is committed to ensuring that all volunteers have the support they need. During your application, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us about any specific requirements, and we’ll work with you to ensure an accessible and inclusive experience.

Will I be paid as a volunteer?

Volunteering for FIFA World Cup 26™ Kansas City is unpaid, but the experience you’ll gain is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! From making lifelong friends to developing new skills and being part of something bigger, it’s a chance to create lasting memories.

What is the time commitment?

We will need volunteers for 35 days. Volunteers are required to volunteer for 8 shifts of 6 hours per shift. Volunteers will not work more than 4 days per week.  

Will there be training? What will the training look like?

All volunteers will receive role-specific training at the Volunteer Center. Venue-specific training will take place at your assigned location.

Do I need to speak other languages?

English is the official language of the FIFA tournament but speaking other languages is a bonus.

Can I be reassigned to a different role?

Once you are offered a volunteer role, you are not able to make a change.

Do I receive a volunteer uniform?
Yes, you will receive a multi-piece uniform that you can keep after your assignment! Further information on the process will follow soon. 
Will travel costs be covered?

Volunteers are responsible for travel costs related to volunteering in Kansas City. A meal will be provided per shift.

Volunteers will have access to transportation in Kansas City through ConnectKC26. More information coming soon.
