Transit and Mobility Progress

Building on our award-winning new airport terminal and the KC Streetcar expansion, the KC2026 Mobility Plan will consider how spectators will reach matches, Team Base Camp activations, FIFA Fan Festival™ and other regional destinations, while delivering a safe, seamless and distinctly Kansas City regional experience. At the same time, we understand the need to minimally impact businesses and municipal services.

This summer, KC2026 named its Mobility Consultant team, which includes local and global firms that have experience with both global mega sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup™, and deep expertise in Kansas City regional transit.  With this team in place, our planning efforts are well underway. Like every facet of our planning, organizing a safe and seamless FIFA World Cup™ will demand a regional, coordinated approach. We will continue to engage our partners and stakeholders to collaborate and help ensure we have a Mobility Plan that supports stakeholder needs and the delivery of a safe, seamless experience.
